To ensure social and economic independence of people with blindness, MUB has initiated various programs. On economic independence, MUB has worked tirelessly to facilitate various trainings that has seen visually impaired persons starting businesses, learning how to farm, learning various trades and most importantly ensuring that visually impaired children get good education that will more or less guarantee them either self-employment or employment in the job market. In the social arena, MUB has mainly focused at helping the visually impaired to develop enough self esteem so that they can actively participate in various capacities in society.

MUB has also helped those that become blind while already grown up to either learn how they can return to their previous employment or trade while those who cannot return to their previous trades are taught new trades that they can use to earn their living.
